Two-Day Meditation Retreat – Cheung Chau

This report outlines our experience during a two-day meditation retreat held from November 24 to 25, 2023, on Cheung Chau Island. The retreat was facilitated by Reverend Fung Chi Wood, who provided valuable insights into meditation practices.
Attendance
Initially, ten participants were enrolled for the retreat. However, due to various personal reasons, only six of us were able to attend. This smaller group allowed for more intimate sessions and deeper connections among participants.
Day One: Arrival, Dinner, and Meditation
On Sunday afternoon, we arrived at the retreat venue, eager to begin our journey. Reverend Fung Chi Wood welcomed us and introduced the themes of the retreat.
The day’s activities began with a simple yet delightful dinner, providing an opportunity for participants to connect and reflect on their experiences.
Following dinner, we engaged in our first meditation session. Reverend Fung guided us through various techniques aimed at enhancing concentration and achieving a state of silence.
Day Two:
Deepening the Practice
On Monday, we continued to deepen our meditation practice under the guidance of Reverend Fung.
Guided Sessions:
Reverend Fung led us through several guided meditation sessions, emphasizing the importance of focus and mindfulness.
Meditation Techniques: We practiced different techniques to enhance our meditation experience.
Each meditation session lasted approximately 30 minutes, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the experience.
Throughout the retreat, all six participants demonstrated remarkable focus and engagement. The experience was enriching, and we thoroughly enjoyed the program.
We left the retreat feeling inspired and eager to continue our meditation practices. The progress made during these two days will undoubtedly encourage us to participate in similar events in the future.
Overall, the retreat was a wonderful opportunity for personal growth and community building, and we look forward to reapplying the techniques learned.
