SJCAA Boat Trip 2026
A total of 25 alumni and friends joined our SJCAA Boat Trip on Sunday, 16 August 2026.
We boarded the yacht from the Aberdeen Boat Club at Central Pier 9 and departed at 10:00 am sharp, sailing towards South Bay on Hong Kong Island. As we passed the western waters, our alumni were delighted to spot St John’s College from a distance.
We arrived at South Bay and anchored by 11:30 am, then kicked off water sports right away. Participants split into two groups—one tried wake surfing, while the other enjoyed swimming, diving, and playing on various floats around the yacht. Many alumni took on the wake surfing challenge, with quite a few experiencing it for the first time.
At around 1:00 pm, we enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch on board. We were fortunate to have beautiful sunshine throughout the entire trip.
By 4:30 pm, we set sail back to Aberdeen Boat Club, with all participants returning safely after a thoroughly enjoyable day on the water.
Special thanks to our Director Ms Vicky Li for arranging the food and the boat from Aberdeen Boat Club; to Ms Ida Cheng (our 10/F sister) for arranging the wake surfing boat from Laswakegers; and to our other organising committee members, Ms En Yu Yap and Dr Chris Chan, for their invaluable efforts in making this trip a success.
