A Warm Welcome: SJCAA Freshmen Nite 2025 Successfully Launches the New Academic Year
The St. John’s College Alumni Association was delighted to host a highly successful Freshmen Nite on the evening of Monday, September 15th.
The event, held in the Students’ Common Room following the High Table Dinner, welcomed over 60 new students into our vibrant community. The evening commenced with a warm address from our Master, Dr. KC Wong, setting an inspiring tone for the night. Our Chairman, Mr. Vincent Chiu, then introduced the attending AA directors—Ms. Hilary Pan, Ms. Ling Ling, Mr. Alex Ho, Ms. Vicky Li, Ms. En Yu Yap, Mr. Ryan Pang, and our Integration Secretary, Ms. Augusta Tang
Vincent then provided an insightful overview of the AA’s structure, past impactful programs, and our ongoing mission and strategic goals.
The program continued with Ms. Augusta Tang detailing our exclusive internship opportunities, a key benefit of AA membership. Mr. Ryan Pang then led an interactive session, guiding freshmen through activating their official alumni accounts. The first five students to successfully log in were rewarded with special St. John’s tote bags.
The engagement continued with a lively Q&A session hosted by Ms. En Yu Yap, featuring a digital hunt for answers within our alumni network, with five more winners earning tote bags.
A highlight of the evening was a breakout discussion where freshmen divided into four groups to brainstorm initiatives for Medical Links, the Mentorship Program, Sports, and Culture & Social events, generating a wealth of innovative ideas for the AA to explore.
The gathering concluded at 9:50 PM, with each freshman receiving a commemorative long umbrella as a final welcome gift from the Alumni Association. It was a fantastic evening of connection, marking the beginning of these new students’ lifelong journey as St. Johnians.
