So far as of today 26 Jan 2022, we have already got a lot of entries from our alumni. Our 5/F brother Dr Raymond Sin seems to have the most entries so far and he has already got 36 points out of 50.

Below are the competition guidelines:-

While we are celebrating the Chinese New Year and welcoming the year of Tiger, we are still subject to various challenges and social distancing rules casued by omicron and other variants. In order to keep the high spirit among our St. John’s community, and to encourage you to go out with your fellow St. Johnians to exercise and “打咭” (within the social distancing regulations), we are very pleased to introduce a brand new on-line competition in the Facebook – the CNY AIM (Aquila in Motion):-

CNY AIM
– Let‘s go hiking with at least one St. Johnian (i.e. a minimum of 2 St. Johnians!) and take a photo at the relevant checkpoints out of the following list:

o High level (3 points): Top of Sharp Peak蚺蛇尖山頂, Lantau Peak 鳳凰山, Kau Nga Ling狗牙嶺, Ghost Hand Rock鬼手岩, Castle Peak + Yuen Tau Mount杯靈雙渡 , Tiger Head老虎頭, Needle Mount + Grassy Hill + Tai Mo Shan 針草帽

o Mid level (2 points): Thousand Island viewpoint千島湖、Lobster bay outlook龍蝦灣、Huge Cross of To Fung Shan道風山十字架, Mau Ping Resting Area 藤皇, Head of Lion Rock 獅子山, Tai Tung Mount 大東山, Little Hawaii Falls小夏威夷徑, Por Ko Shan Great Canyon小大峽谷, Ngong Ping Gallery Road 昂坪棧道

o Low level (1 point): Dragon Back龍脊, Tai Po Kau brown route大埔滘林徑啡徑, Violet Mount紫羅蘭山, Lau Shui Heung Reservoirs流水響水塘, Aberdeen Reservoirs香港仔水塘、Tuen Mun Trail屯門彩虹柵, Lung Fu Shan龍虎山, Tai Mo Shan大帽山, Sir Cecil’s Ride金督馳馬徑, Olympics Trail 奧運徑

– Upload photo(s) to SJC AA Facebook page under our “CNY Aquila in Motion” post individually as “comments” (please visit the following link in facebook)

– Upload deadline 15th day of CNY (15th February 2022)

– Photos can be taken at any time before the upload deadline! The more the merrier!

– Point calculation formula:
o No. of St. Johnians (no more than 4) x level of difficulties as stated above
– Awards#:
o THE FIRST INDIVIDUAL WHO GETS THE ACCUMULATED SCORE OF 50 WILL BE THE WINNER, OR FAILING WHICH, THE INDIVIDUAL WITH THE HIGHEST SCORE AS AT MIDNIGHT OF OUR DEADLINE 15th February 2022

o FIRST RUNNER UP: THE SECOND INDIVIDUAL WHO GETS THE ACCUMULATED SCORE OF 50 OR THE SECOND HIGHEST SCORE BEFORE THE DEADLINE (even after the winner reaches 50 early)

o 3 SPECIAL PRIZES: MOST LIKES ON FACEBOOK, MOST INTERESTING, MOST ST. JOHN’S

– Prizes:
o Winner: $1,000 spending credits to be used by a maximum of 4 persons dinner on weekdays at the exclusive Senior Common Room of HKU*

o First runner up: $500 spending credits to be used by a maximum of 4 persons dinner on weekdays at the Senior Common Room of HKU*

o Special Prizes x 3: ABC coupon of $200**

* Advanced booking is required through SJCAA.
**Cash coupons will be issued by SJCAA, these coupons will be able to used in any of the shops in SJCAA – ABC companies (Please visit the Aquila Business Communitas SJCAA HKU page for more information about the shops run by our alumni)
