Celebrating 35 Years of SJCAA – Sports Week & Gala Dinner

Dear Fellow Members,

This year marks the 35th Anniversary of the St. John’s College Alumni Association (SJCAA), a milestone celebrating more than three decades of friendship, service, and lifelong connections.

Since its founding in 1991, with the support of alumni and the then College Master, Rev. Paul Tong, SJCAA has grown from just over 100 founding members to a community of more than 3,000 alumni.

Over the years, we have shared many memorable occasions, including the College’s 100th and 111th Anniversary celebrations at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (the Legend of Aquila and the One & Only One) reunion dinners, our annual Golf Day, the Round the Island run, and the Flying with Eagles project featuring 111 alumni interviews. These achievements reflect the dedication of generations of St. Johnians who have kept our community connected.

35th Anniversary Celebrations

To commemorate this milestone, we warmly invite you to join our upcoming events:
Sports Week – December 2026 with 3 inter-floor competitions sponsored by SJCAA:
• Bowling: Sunday, 6 December
• Golf: Wednesday, 9 December
• Pickleball: Sunday, 13 December
35th Anniversary Gala Dinner
• Date: Sunday, 17 January 2027
• Venue: Senior Common Room, K.K. Leung Building, The University of Hong Kong
These celebrations offer a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends, meet fellow alumni across generations, and celebrate our shared St. John’s heritage.

As Founding Chairman, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to SJCAA’s journey over the past 35 years. Your continued support has made this remarkable community what it is today.

Further event and registration details will be shared in due course. Please save the dates. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Once a St. Johnian, Always a St. Johnian.

Yours sincerely,

Vincent Chiu
