St John’s College Alumni Association (SJCAA) Shines at HKU Alumni Day 2025!
On 16 March 2025, the HKU Alumni Day brought together alumni from across the university for a day of celebration, reconnection, and nostalgia. The St John’s College Alumni Association (SJCAA) was proud to participate in this special event, setting up a booth at the HKU Promenade to engage with fellow alumni and showcase the spirit of St John’s College.
Our booth was a hub of activity from 11 am to 5 pm, featuring an interactive quiz about the College and SJCAA. Participants were challenged to answer four simple questions about St John’s, and those who succeeded were rewarded with beautiful souvenirs donated by SJCAA. Thanks to the overwhelming support, all 250+ souvenirs were given out by the end of the day!
The highlight of the day was the visit from the President of HKU, who stopped by our booth and received an exclusive SJCAA souvenir. It was a proud moment for all of us to showcase the warmth and camaraderie of the St John’s community to such a distinguished guest.
At 1:30 pm, around 30 St Johnians gathered at the Promenade for a group photo with our brand-new SJCAA banner. The photo captured the joy and unity of our alumni, reminding us of the lasting bonds forged at St John’s College.
Later in the afternoon, from 3 pm onwards, we organized a hall tour at the College, followed by a sharing session in the Students’ Common Room. The event was made even more special with cheese, snacks, and fine wines generously donated by SJCAA and CheeseBB. Around 15 alumni shared their most memorable moments at the College with current students, creating a meaningful exchange of experiences and wisdom across generations.
The day was a resounding success, filled with laughter, nostalgia, and new connections. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and made the event so memorable. Here’s to many more gatherings that celebrate the spirit of St John’s College and the enduring bonds of our alumni community!
