Fund Raising Fishing Competition (Postponed)

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. IT WILL NOT BE HELD ON THE FOLLOWING DAY.

The first SJCAA Fund Raising Fishing Competition to be held on 2 May 2016 (Monday).

For those who like fishing and for those who have never fished before, this is a good opportunity for you to enjoy the sport, details are as follows:-

Date: Monday, 2 May 2016 (Public holiday)
Venue: Water-sky Fishing Club水中天休閒釣魚會(大埔三門仔)
Time: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Briefing Session: 10 April 2016 (Sunday) at 3pm in St. John’s College Students’ Common Room

Tentative Schedule for the Fishing Competition on 2 May 2016
– 8:30 am : 1st pick up at Tin Hau MTR station (Exit A2)
– 8:50 am : 2nd pick up at Kowloon Tong (Waterloo Road)
– 9:30 am: Arrive at Water-sky Fish Club + Briefing
– 10:00 am: Competition commences
– 2:00 pm : Lunch (seafood meal – optional)
– 4:00 pm : Leave Water-sky Fishing Club
– 5:00 pm: Arrive at Kowloon Tong
– 5:30 pm: Arrive at Tin Hau

Format:
Individual Section (For SJCAA members only)
-1 finishing rod (self prepared)
-Baits will be provided by organiser
-To catch as many fishes as possible from 10 am to 2 pm
-For highest number of fishes caught – Silver Hook Award
-For weighted most – Golden Hook Award

Family/Group Section
-(For SJCAA members’ spouses and family members)
-2-4 fishing rods: one per competitor (self prepared)
-Baits will be provided by the organiser
-To catch as many fishes as possible from 10 am to 2 pm
-For highest number of fishes caught – Group Silver Hook Award
-For weighted most – Group Golden Hook Award

*N.B.: Each competitor should bring their own fishing rods (hand fishing is not recommended especially for beginners). We can help to purchase standard fishing rods (with fishing line, weights and fishing hooks at a package of about HK$300). Please indicate your preference in the eform (below).

Fees
Including entrance fee (HK$100) for Water-sky fishing club, (HK$100) donation to St. John’s Foundation, coach transportation and baits for the competition.

Individual player
– SJCAA Member HK$300
– Non SJCAA Member HK$400

Family
– Spouse or children of SJCAA member HK$200 per person

Lunch (optional)
– Seafood meal at Water-sky Fishing Club – HK$100 per person

Donation
We gratefully invite donations from our fellow alumni in support of the St. John’s Foundation which has been set up in 2013 to sponsor projects for current students of St. John’s College, the University of Hong Kong in environmental projects, academic achievements and social services in Hong Kong and/or China. Attached the donation form for your reference. (All surplus of the Fishing Competition will also be donated to the St. John’s Foundation.)
