Our Alumni Chairman Mr. Vincent Chiu followed then thanked all those alumni of St. John’s who had made contributions to St. John’s College throughout these many years, especially during the crisis situations.

The highlight of the function came when all the guests were present at the stage to release six golden balloons (S-J-C-1-0-0) into the sky, symbolize the grand opening of our celebration events.

Then the Vice-Chancellor of HKU Prof. Tsui Lap-Chee addressed the group, followed by Dr. Yeung Sum shared with us about his hall life in St. John’s College; and again, how it affected his up-bringing as a politician in the society.

The ceremony ended after the speech of the current SA Chairlady Ms. Mimi Lee and the “new” faster version of the College Song was sung.

The Opening Ceremony also attracted some media; and two articles were published in Ming Pao and Sing Tao Daily on Saturday.
