HKUAA Fanling Golf Day

The HKU Alumni is going to oragnise their 2nd year of Golf day at the Fanling HK Golf club on Wednesday, 20 April 2005. There are still openings available. Competition for Challenge Cup

You are cordially invited to join us in the Second Annual Golf Day to be held on Wednesday, 20 April 2005 at The Hong Kong Golf Club, Fanling, on the Eden Course. Our Honorary Vice-President, Dr. George Choa has kindly donated the Challenge Cup for the winner (best net in stableford points). MacGregor Hong Kong has also consented to sponsor some prizes and gift items for this event. Members who wish to participate in competition can sign up by completing the attached application form. Members who do not wish to participate in competition can sign up just for leisure play. The particulars for this event are as follows: –

Venue : Eden Course, The Hong Kong Golf Club, Fanling
Tee-time & Date : 8:45a.m. ? 9:48a.m. 20 April, 2005 (Wednesday)
Rules : As defined by The Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews and Local
Rules govern all play.
Format : Stableford

The Stableford Points scoring system is as follows:

One over par-1 point
Par-2 point
One under par-3 point
Two under par-5 point
Three under par-8 point

The winner is the competitor who scores the highest number of net points. Determination of the Net Score Winner will be based on the confirmed handicap.

Eligibility : All participating players for competition are required to produce a recent
(within 3 months) handicap index card issued by the HK Golf Association or
any equivalent in order to claim for the handicap (a maximum handicap of 26
for men and 30 for women).
Tie break : Ties will be decided by a playoff or count back as deemed necessary by the
Committee.
Tee off at : Men – White Tee Ladies – Red Tee

The winner of this event will be awarded the Challenge Cup and he/she is entitled to keep the Challenge Cup for a year. His/her name will be engraved on the Challenge Cup. There will also be prizes for runners up; longest drive and nearest to the pin.

Buffet lunch and prize presentation will follow after the game at the “Rotunda” of the Hong Kong Golf Club.

Entry Fee: $1,000 per person for competition play or leisure play. If you are a member of Hong Kong Golf Club, the fee will be $300 for competition or leisure. (This will include the green fee as well as cost for Buffet Lunch)

Other costs (optional for all participants):
Caddie Fees – a choice of HK$165, HK$220 or HK$275 per round
Rental of trolleys @HK$20
Rental of buggies @HK$240 (maximum for share of 2 persons)

As there is a limit number of players allowed by the Golf Club, confirmation of entry will be given on a first come first served basis. More information will be given later to competitors.
